The Prince George Hospice Dream Home Lottery has selected its first of three 'big-prize' winners for 2020.
Lauraine Biech won $150,000 this evening (Sept. 25) in the first 50/50 raffle draw 10 days after all 12,000 tickets sold out.
The winning ticket was #2579.
"That's wonderful! Oh, that's so exciting," said the Prince George resident by phone to Hospice Executive Director Donna Flood after making the call to congratulate them.
"You have no idea how much this is going to help my families. That's the best news I've had in years; I've never won anything ever."
Tickets for the second 50/50 draw are up for sale starting Monday (Sept. 28).
The next lucky $150,000 winner will be unveiled on Dec. 18, six days before the new owners of the 2020 Dream Home are announced on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24).

As of this publication, there are less than 600 tickets remaining for the 10th edition of the annual giveaway.
The $700,000 Nechako View Subdivision property is located at 3955 Larisa Ct.
Residents are still welcome to visit the 3,390 sq-ft home in person Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a limited number of people inside at a time to account for social-distancing protocols.
There are also two other early birds prizes up for grabs ahead of the Dream Home draw.
Fifty additional 50/50 tickets will be won on Oct. 23, while an inflatable boat package, worth $3,550 in value, will be given away on Nov. 20.
