The Friends of the Prince George Public Library Society is hosting its second book sale since the pandemic at the Nechako Branch in the Hart this week.

The book sale will be held with members-only early access on Friday from 3-6 p.m. Memberships can be purchased on site for $5 (cash only). The public sale will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Books are sold by donation with the proceeds going to support special items, programs, and initiatives at the library.

“The April sale at the Bob Harkins Branch was a huge success but we still have a ton of books to sell as we are still dealing with the overflow caused during the pandemic,” Margaret Johnston, past president and director of the Friends of the Prince George Public Library, said. “Please bring cash, your reusable bags, and a love of books and bargains.”

Since their incorporation in 1990, the Friends of the Library have raised over $440,000 with fundraising initiatives like Book sales, memberships and merchandise sales (mugs and bookbags), and 50/50 draws.
