Light up those who light up

The Prince George Winter City Committee is encouraging the public to help recognize those who have taken the time to decorate their front yards or business frontages.

The Prince George Winter City Committee is encouraging the public to help recognize those who have taken the time to decorate their front yards or business frontages.

The goal of the Winter Lights Recognition Program, according to the City of Prince George's recreation department, is to let your neighbours know that their efforts to light up the festive season are appreciated, and to engage and encourage others to participate.

To nominate a neighbour or a business, visit the city's website at www.city.pg.bc.ca, click into the 'Residents' Information' heading then look under the 'Wintercity' heading for a nomination form.

"Those who nominate a neighbour will be given a Winter Lights Recognition sign to present to their neighbour to display," said recreation co-ordinator Cheryl Livingstone-Leman.

The deadline to submit a nomination form is Jan. 14, 2011.
