In partnership with the PGFCS, Crossroads Brewing and Northern Lights Estate Winery have created special blends of beer and wine to help raise funds for the society.
One dollar from every 4-pack of Cinders Rye Ale and bottle of Ember Red currant wine has been collected for the society. The sale of these products was very successful selling out production in only a short time for a total donation of $1500.
“The pilot program to support the Prince George Firefighters was a resounding success and we are excited to announce that in 2023 we will be expanding the program substantially to raise significantly more money for this charity,” Doug Bell of Northern Lights Winery said.
“Supporting the community is central to our mission and we are proud of the success of this partnership in year one,” Daryl Leiski of Crossroads Brewing said.
The Prince George Firefighter Charitable Society was formed in November 2021 to raise funds for the community of Prince George. There are 120 members from the IAFF Local 1372 who donate their time to run and organize fundraising events. The goal is to support burn survivors by working with the University Hospital of Northern BC, residents who have medical issues, such as Muscular Dystrophy and other organizations with their fundraising endeavours, and provide support for local families, specifically those faced with financial challenges due to travel for specific treatments.
“The Society is early in its development and is looking forward to more partnerships like these to support the community and further its mission,” Rob Trevelyan of the Prince George Firefighters said.
