Prince George Symphony Orchestra (PGSO) is welcoming a new executive director.
Professional musician Ken Hall will take over the position from outgoing general manager Teresa Saunders.
After five years, which saw Saunders' dedication put the PGSO in a strong position to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, Hall will take over as executive director effective May 1, 2021.
"This is an important milestone in the life of the PGSO," said Board Chair Roy Stewart.
"And is the culmination of five months hard work by the Board’s Search Committee."
Ken Hall's professional career has spanned 20 years in arts administration, 16 of which were spent with the Canadian Children’s Opera Company (CCOC) in Toronto.
He has held several positions of increasing responsibility with the CCOC, including Managing Director in the last five years, and has a strong background in all key areas of performing arts production and management.
“One of the highlights of my work has been the partnership with our Maestro Michael Hall (no relation to Ken Hall) over the past four years,” says Saunders.
“Our Maestro is an extremely gifted and collaborative Music Director and It has been a pleasure working with him to advance his exciting musical vision for the PGSO. I am confident that “Hall and Hall” will be an excellent senior management team and continue to provide strong leadership to the organization.”
Hall, who was raised in Calgary, says he is looking forward to moving back west and taking over a key role for the PGSO.
