Amid the sea of graduating gowns seated on the floor of CN Centre, Jonathan Hansen couldn't help but stand out during the College of New Caledonia's convocation on Saturday.
The 27-year-old attended the ceremony bedecked in traditional Mtis regalia - from beaded flat hat to buckskin vest to sash to moccasins - to accept the Mary John Award of Excellence, named after the respected Saik'uz elder who was named to the Order of Canada in 1997.
