New fees for B.C. specialists

Specialist doctors will now be able to bill for a package of new fees as part of a $45 million program the province hopes will cut down on trips to the emergency room and unnecessary referrals.

Specialist doctors will now be able to bill for a package of new fees as part of a $45 million program the province hopes will cut down on trips to the emergency room and unnecessary referrals.

The fees, which came into effect at the start of the month, will apply to advice specialists give on the telephone and visits to patients before and after surgery.
