A lawyer who has practiced in Prince George has been assigned to the provincial court's northern region.
George Leven will start March 27.
After earning a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Alberta in 1993, Leven joined the Prince George law firm Hope Heinrich where he began as an articled student and progressed to partner.
In 2003 he launched his own practice in Prince George. In 2013, he moved to Dawson Creek where he has been the community's only full-time criminal defence attorney.
He also has experience in the areas of personal injury, family law and federal prosecutions and has been a member of the board with the Prince George Activator Society and the Northern John Howard Society.
Leven's appointment follows the death of judge Randall Callan in December.
