A new ridseshare company has started signing drivers up in Prince George to prepare for a launch in late June.
The company known as Uride was founded in Thunder Bay, Ontario and now operates in nine markets including Kelowna.
“Uride is committed to bring safe and affordable rides to small and mid-sized communities in British Columbia and we are now recruiting drivers in Prince George to build our team for our launch in June” said Cody Ruberto, Founder of Uride in a news release.
Residents who are interested in driving with Uride must be at least 19 years of age, have a clean criminal record and own their own car to drive on the platform.
Uride will be covering the majority of startup costs including vehicle safeties, driver abstracts and background checks.
Uride operates 24/7, and the company says drivers have flexibility to pick when they want to work each week.
