There's good news involving the COVID-19 outbreak at two workforce accommodation sites on the Coastal GasLink project.
Northern Health says three more infections were identified at the sites, but there are no active cases presently.
The authority says a total of 56 confirmed cases have been discovered to date involving the outbreaks at 7 Mile Lodge and Little Rock Lake Lodge.
All cases have been classified as recovered and have finished their required self-isolation.
An outbreak was declared on Dec. 19, 2020. The outbreak notice remains in place until 28 days have passed with no new cases or COVID-19 activity.
Outbreaks also remain at UHNBC's Rehab Unit (declared Jan. 4), UHNBC's Internal Medicine Unit (declared Dec. 29, 2020), LNG Canada Project Site - Diversified (declared on Dec. 16, 2020) and Jubilee Lodge in Prince George (declared on Dec. 12, 2020), which has taken a total of 12 lives.
As of publication (Jan. 8), there are currently 438 active cases in the northern region with 38 in hospital, 16 of which are currently in ICU.
Health officials say there have been 32 deaths to date since the pandemic struck northern B.C. in March and 2,338 recorded cases.
