Builder and renovator of the year will be celebrated during the Housing Awards of Excellence by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Northern BC on Saturday, May 13 at a gala held at the Courtyard by Marriott.

“We are proud to recognize the highest levels of achievement in the residential development and construction industry,” Terri McConnachie, executive officer, Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Northern BC, said.

“The competition is fierce and there are some incredible projects up for the win in a variety of categories including new home, renovation, design creativity, and there is a focus on energy efficiency and environmental elements. It will be worthwhile to take note of the winners before hiring your next contractor.”

Supplier or Sub-Trade of the Year award, as voted by member builders, will also be announced and the Golden Hammer Award will be presented to Joe Hart, founder of Icon Homes Ltd. in Quesnel for his remarkable contribution to the homebuilding sector and to the association.

Residential construction is a key economic driver in every community across Canada and is a top employer. The Canadian Home Builders’ Association works with all levels of government to unlock the door to home ownership for Canadians and advocates for housing affordability.

At the regional, provincial and national levels, the association supports builders, renovators, trades people and the supply chain in residential construction to provide housing that Canadians need and homes that are comfortable, safe, and environmentally sound.
