Northern B.C. real estate market picking up

Single-family homes sold for an average $220,039 last month, the B.C. Real Estate Association said Friday, a $6,789 increase over the month before. The number of sales also rose, by 24 units to a total of 338, boosting the dollar volume by $7.

The number of sales also rose, by 24 units to a total of 338, boosting the dollar volume by $7.4 million to $74.4 million.

The sales to active listings ratio was 11.3 per cent, based on 3,002 listings, down from 12 per cent, based on 2,618 listings the month before.

The figures are for northern B.C. as a whole - from 100 Mile House north - with the exception of Dawson Creek, Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge.
