Good news, Prince George!

There’s a chance to get ahead on your 2020 holiday shopping as local vendors will set up for the return of the annual Community Winter Market this weekend.

More than 30 local businesses will convene at the Hart Community Centre for residents to explore and find a gift, decoration or hidden treasure.

Each station in the building has been sold as of this morning (Nov. 5).

COVID-19 health measures are set to be in effect for guests and vendors that encourage physical distancing, a limited number of people inside the building, display barriers and hand sanitizing stations.

Masks are not mandatory, but Dr. Bonnie Henry has made an expectation of B.C. to wear face-coverings in public spaces where distancing can’t be done, both indoors and outdoors.

In addition to the safety protocols in place, organizers say residents are expected to enjoy a ‘cozy environment’ with lots of baking, food and coffee available too.

The HCC’s lunch-to-go kitchen will also be open for hungry guests in need of a warm meal.

The Community Winter Market’s first outing is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 7) and Sunday (Nov. 8).

It’s earmarked for every weekend throughout the holiday season.
