The B.C. Wildfire service is still reporting the fire burning five kilometres east of the community of Fraser Lake is 260 hectares. The
Regional District of Bulkey-Nechako has issued a local state of emergency as well as an evacuation order and alert. The fire's status is active, 70 per cent guarded and zero percent contained, with 40 firefighters and two helicopters, as well as several pieces of heavy equipment on site.
The fire was first reported on Friday, May 3, and was believed to be human-caused, although B.C. Wildfire service is now reporting the cause as under investigation.

The Regional District of Bulkey-Nechako has issued a local state of emergency as well as an evacuation order and alert.
An evacuation order has been issued for south of Highway 16 to south of Roys Lake; west and east of Seaspunkut 4 (Lejac).

The B.C. Wildfire Service says the massive blaze near Fraser Lake has grown in size to 260 hectares.
(Saturday) 7:10 p.m.
There is a large fire burning five kilometers east of Fraser Lake.
Molly Blower with the Prince George Fire Centre says there are roughly 20 B.C. Wildfire Service firefighters on scene along with air tankers while the fire has grown to 100 hectares.
She adds the fire is very visible from Fraser Lake and from Highway 16.
Evacuations are also underway tactically by RCMP. Blower adds notice and orders are being prepared.
She says at this time, the fire is believed to be human-caused.
