P.G. call centre could still go ahead

The B.C. Utilities Commission has denied Terasen's $115.5-million project to bring much of its customer service business back within the company, which included a planned call-centre in Prince George.

The B.C. Utilities Commission has denied Terasen's $115.5-million project to bring much of its customer service business back within the company, which included a planned call-centre in Prince George.

However, the decision, issued quietly on Tuesday, does allow the project to go ahead if Terasen Gas accepts some of the business risk of the project and shares any savings. Terasen has until next Friday to decide whether it agrees that if the final cost of the project is 10 per cent less or greater than $115.5 million, the additional costs or savings will be shared equally between itself and its ratepayers.
