Photos: Tow truck to the rescue

Nobody was hurt, but the vehicle had to be hauled away

There were no injuries Monday, April 21 after a driver went off the John Hart Highway.

A driver from Ron's Towing was soon on the scene, winching the SUV up an embankment before loading it onto a flatbed.

There were no injuries reported.

While the cause of the incident is unknown, it's a reminder to everyone to exercise caution on Prince George roads. BCAA offers safety tips for motorists:

  • Watch your speed – Follow posted speed limits, especially in school and construction zones. Slow down near children and watch for signs like BCAA’s “Slow Down, Kids Playing.”
  • Stay focused – Avoid distractions like phones, devices or food. Plan your route ahead and take breaks on long trips to stay alert.
  • Keep your distance – Maintain a safe following distance: at least two seconds in good conditions and more in poor weather.
  • Drive courteously – Signal turns, yield at crosswalks, follow four-way stop rules and stay in the right lane unless passing. Be patient and respectful to others on the road.
  • Be prepared – Carry an emergency kit with essentials like water, flashlight, phone charger, warm clothing and high-visibility gear.
