A Prince George athlete is bringing home two medals from the Special Olympics 2019 World Summer Games.

Linda Renner earned the medals in singles and doubles 10 pin bowling in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Games are held every four years. Renner qualified through a process that began in 2016 when she competed at the regional qualifiers held in Prince George. From there she progressed through the 2017 provincial games and then the 2018 national games to reach the worlds.

Renner has been bowling three times a week, as well as doing fitness, weight lifting and rhythmic gymnastics.

This is not her first time competing at a world level. Four years ago Linda travelled to the Special Olympics World Summer games held in Los Angeles where she also competed in 10 pin bowling.
