Prince George Fire Rescue report no injuries in Shady Valley house fire

No one was injured in a house fire in Shady Valley this morning (Oct.17).

At about 9 a.m., Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 1400-block, Shady Valley Rd., located north of the Hart region off Old Summit Lake Road via North Pulpmill Road.

Fifteen firefighters from three halls responded and on arrival, crews found smoke coming from the roof and the main floor of the home.

No occupants were home at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported to fire personnel.

The fire was extinguished, but the home sustained extensive damage in the estimated amount of $700,000.

Crews are still on scene searing for any hotspots and extensions and the incident's cause is still unknown.
