Prince George firefighter injured while battling house fire

Fire in 1600 block of 11th Avenue caused $100,000 damage

A Prince George firefighter was injured while fighting a downtown house fire late Friday night.

Prince George Fire Rescue crews from two fire halls were summoned to the call and discovered upon arrival the house in the 1600 block of 11th Avenue was fully engulfed  in flame.

Firefighters used handlines and a master stream to put out the fire.

The injuries to the firefighter were not critical. No other people were injured in the fire.

Cause of the fire was not released by city of Prince George communications staff.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.
