A Prince George man has been arrested following an apparent targetted violent sexual assault this past weekend.

On Sunday (Nov. 15), RCMP received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in Connaught Hill Park off Patricia Boulevard.

Once the scene was secured and evidence was gathered, police found a suspect, Ryan Kenneth McLane, whom they arrested a short time after the report was made.

The 37-year-old has since been charged with the following:

  • Sexual assault
  • Assault by choking
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats to cause bodily harm
  • Theft under $5,000

Police say the violent attack is not believed to be random as McLane and the victim are known to each other.

McLane was held in custody and will appear in court later today (Nov. 16).
