November didn't turn out to be a great month for Prince George economically speaking.

According to a new report released by the city, the unemployment rate for the region came in at 6.4 per cent last month compared to 5.2 per cent 12 months earlier.

The employment rate rose to 65.6 per cent in November of 2019, up from 53.3 per cent back in 2018.

There was only one new business application in November, two less than the same time last year.

YXS - Prince George Airport also reported a drop in passengers come through the gates.

Last year, 42,558 passengers were counted compared to only 39,633 this year which equates to a 6.87 per cent decrease for November.

There was some good news when it comes to house sales.

The average was up six per cent when comparing November of last year to this year, while Multi-Family Housing construction starts are more than double the same timeframe last year.

There were six less home sales year-over-year, according to the BC Northern Real Estate Board, with 15 in November 2018 and nine last month.
