The weather outside is... mild.

As a result of the warmer temperatures, the Prince George Outdoor Ice Oval Society has decided to close the oval for the next two days.

That mean's the oval will be closed for today (Dec. 18) and Thursday (Dec. 19).

The oval is hoping to re-open for Friday (Dec. 20), but that will also be weather dependent according to the Society.

If you haven’t been before, the Prince George Outdoor Ice Oval is a 400m long-track speed-skating facility made with natural ice and is ideal for both recreation and speed-skating and is maintained by the Outdoor Ice Oval Society of Prince George.

It's located at 4249 18 Ave., behind the CN Centre, and, as with all natural outdoor ice surfaces, its condition and quality is weather dependent.

If you want to keep updated on ice conditions, you can find more information on the oval's website or follow along on Facebook.
