A man and a woman have been released on an order until their next court date after they arrested and charged for stealing a vehicle this week.
Gordon Laliberte and Virginia Denning, who are both familiar to Prince George RCMP, were found in possession of a Nissan Pathfinder Thursday night (March 11) after it was reported stolen around 6:40 p.m.
More than two hours later, around 9 p.m., a sharp-eyed officer saw the vehicle backing out of the driveway of a VLA home, then followed it to a 1700-block Strathcona Avenue business.
They turned on their police lights, arrested the pair and took them to the detachment until their court appearance.
The Pathfinder was originally left running by its owner with the keys inside and in the time between going into their home to grab a jacket and coming back outside, someone got in the vehicle and drove off.
Laliberte, aged 40, and Denning, aged 37, have both been approved of charges by the B.C. Prosecution Service.
The offences are as follows:
- Laliberte
- Possession of Stolen Property
- One count of Prohibited Driving
- Denning
- Possession of Stolen Property
RCMP say their next court date is set for the end of March.
