Prince George RCMP have blocked off a portion of First Avenue near the intersection with Ospika Boulevard for what appears to be a raid of a home at the corner of First and McIntyre Crescent.
A Citizen reporter arriving on scene around 5 p.m. saw several police SUVs, a van and an armoured vehicle. What also appeared to be a robot was on site.
Police officers in tactical gear were seen going in and out of a white house.
A bystander told the reporter that it appeared both flashbang and tear gas grenades were deployed by officers, and that at least one person was taken into custody.
UPDATE: Police on the scene had left by 5:30 p.m. The Citizen has reached out to the RCMP for further information.
