The Prince George RCMP will be reopening to the public next week resuming operations that were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 concerns

Cpl. Craig Douglass says non-essential front counter services will be available starting next Tuesday, May 19.

Douglass says services include fingerprinting and Police Information Checks.

The detachment will be following social distancing guidelines and will have signs and markers in place to direct people when they enter the detachment.

Staff will have access to personal protective equipment (PPE) and some clients, depending on the service, may be provided with PPE.

"These actions are being taken in an effort to limit public contact with our staff due to the COVID-19 crisis," Douglass said in a release.

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms is asked not to go to the detachment and call 250-561-3300 for services or information needed.
