Prince George RCMP are looking for the person who was flying a drone over the scene of an investigation last week.
On Wed., Jan. 25 at 11 a.m., police were called to a disturbance at a 2600-block Quince Street home and, while investigating the complaint, they observed a micro-drone flying above the residence.
The machine crashed on the home's roof and was seized by police. They are now looking for the operator.
"We want to remind the public that there are fines and possible criminal charges that could result from flying a drone above an active police investigation," Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said. "Micro-drone operators are required to follow the Transport Canada guidelines for drone operation, which include avoiding emergency sites and first responder perimeters."
Anyone who has information on who was flying the drone is asked to contact police by calling the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300. Quote file number 2023-2664.
