Three Prince George facilities are going to stay open over the holidays, albeit on a limited basis and some by appointment.
The CN Centre, Aquatic Centre and Public Library (PGPL) will see reduced hours to accommodate local residents that still need to access them until the end of 2020 and into the new year.
The indoor walking program will still take place on the concourse of the CN Centre and residents can still pre-register a timeslot.
The exceptions are as follows:
- Dec. 24 = Open from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Dec. 25 = Closed
- Dec. 28 = Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (administration office closed)
- Dec. 31 = Open from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Jan. 1 = Closed
The same process is being applied to the Prince George Aquatic Centre for recreational swimmers, who must also register in advance via the city’s website.
The exceptions are as follows:
- Dec. 24 = Open until 2 p.m.
- Dec. 25 = Closed
- Dec. 26 = Closed
- Dec. 27-30 = Open for regular Hours
- Dec. 31 = Open until 6:30 p.m.
- Jan. 1 = Closed
As for the Prince George Public Library, the Bob Harkins and Nechako branches are set to stay closed for a slightly extended period of time over the holidays.
Its exceptions are as follows:
Bob Harkins Branch
- Dec. 24-28 = Closed
- Dec. 31 = Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Jan. 1 = Closed
Nechako Branch
- Dec. 24-27 = Closed
- Dec. 31 = Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Jan. 1-3 = Closed
The Prince George Conference and Civic Centre, Four Seasons Leisure Pool and Elksentre are still closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus.
The city says non-essential services will close at 12 p.m. on Dec. 24 and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31, while all operations, except police, fire and aquatics, will be closed Dec. 25, 26, 28 and Jan. 1
