With seasons set to change and more residents heading back to a fall routine, BC Transit is putting more buses back on the road in Prince George.

According to the provincial service, local transit is reinstating three routes starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, as it switches the system to its fall schedule in order to meet service demands.

This includes:

  • 12 Parkridge
  • 96 Kelly
  • 97 Kelly (K-12 students)

However, there are several other routes that won’t be included.

The 17 UNBC and 18 Spruceland routes won’t be added as post-secondary schools are planning to move to an online format during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 15 UNBC-Downtown and 55 Victoria’s 3:47 p.m. route also won’t be added for the rest of 2020.

All of the above routes were cancelled in March in response to COVID-19 in reducing any potential spread of the virus.

BC Transit is reminding bus riders that masks are mandatory starting Monday (Aug. 24).

Exceptions are being made, however, for children under the age of five and those with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask.

For more information, you can visit the Prince George page of BC Transit's website.
