It's a simple message. Slow down.
The month of May is speeding and aggressive driving month which will see extra patrols on the roads to enforce safer driving.
Yesterday (May 8), officers from the Prince George Municipal Traffic Services, as well as Vanderhoof Provincial Traffic Services, conducted extra patrols on Highway 16 between the two cities.
In total, officers issued:
- 49 speeding tickets
- Five tickets for vehicle-equipment violations
- Three tickets for failing to slow down and moving over for police vehicles
- One cell phone ticket
- One ticket for following too closely
- One ticket for crossing a double-solid line
Police add they want to remind motorists that the focus for May is speeding and aggressive driving.
“We want to ensure all travellers get to their destinations safely." Sgt. Matt LaBelle, NCO of Prince George Municipal Traffic Services says in a release.
