A Prince George civil servant is one of two honoured Monday with the Certificate in Local Government Service Delivery. The citation was bestowed to Devon Cooper, manager of Police Support Services for the City of Prince George (also to Campbell River's deputy fire chief Ian Baikie) by the provincial government's board of examiners for government employees.

Cooper was recognized for her "education and work experience in the local government field," according to a statement by the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. "On average, only 25 local government certificates are awarded annually to individuals in municipalities, regional districts, and improvement districts around B.C., including the City of Vancouver."

The three-member board represents the Local Government Management Association of

B.C., the Union of British Columbia Municipalities and the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
