Ontario-based Uride will be launching a ridesharing service in Prince George in October.

Ontario-based ridesharing service Uride will launch in Prince George in October, the company announced on Monday.

Uride was launched in Thunder Bay, Ont. in 2017 and operates in Kelowna, Kamloops, Thunder Bay and eight other small-to-midsize communities in Ontario. The company started recruiting drivers in Prince George earlier this year.

“The feedback we’ve received from the people in Prince George is that reliable transportation is hard to come by,” Uride regional operations manager Ravi Dhami said. “We plan on coming in and addressing that need and ensuring that everyone has access to safe, reliable and affordable transportation. Prince George will be our third city launch in BC and our whole team is excited at the prospect of having a positive impact on the entire community.”

Prince George residents can download the Uride mobile app in the App Store and Google Play Store, or by going online to the company’s website.
