The College of New Caledonia hosted the annual Seal in a Smile program for children in School District 57.
This year the program saw children in Kindergarten through Grade 7 from Nusdeh Yoh, which is the aboriginal choice school. After completing treatment, the college sees Spruceland elementary school students being treated for the next two weeks.
Children made one or two visits to CNC's dental clinic. During the first visit their teeth were polished, they get a fluoride treament and an assessment. During the second visit children got a dental sealant.
"This is an extremely unique program." said Heather Brown, CNC Dental Clinic co-ordinator. "It provides targeted dental and oral healthcare to local children at the same time that it provides invaluable training to our dental students."
