Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery draw April 28

The house at 2834 Links Dr., in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision, is valued at $880,000.

In less than 10 days, somebody will win the $880,000 grand prize in the Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery.

The draw will be made at noon on Friday, April 28 and the lucky ticket holder will take ownership of a fully-furnished, four-bedroom, three-bathroom house with a two-car garage, built by Hopson Construction at 2434 Links Dr., in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision.

As of Monday morning, about 1,700 of the 12,000 tickets printed for the draw remained unsold.

Show Home Lottery manager Liz Bennett is confident the remaining tickets, priced at $125 each, will get snapped up before the April 26, 10 p.m. cut-off for sales.

“We are getting there,” said Bennett. “Last year we sold 2,000 tickets in the last six days and we sold out a few days in advance of the deadline. So we’re definitely on track to sell out the house.”

The Show Home Lottery is the lifeblood of community-owned Spruce Kings. Proceeds from the club’s biggest fundraiser annually provide more than 60 per cent of the team’s operating budget in the B.C. Hockey League.

Tickets are available at the Show Home daily from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. You can also go online to sprucekingsshowhome.ca or call 1-855-962-4946. Tickets will also be sold at Canadian Tire from Thursday-Sunday.

April 28 is also the draw date for the second Mega 50-50 Lottery and tickets are still available, priced at $25 each. As of Monday the prize pot was at $161,150. Bennett expects that figure will reach the $300,000 maximum before tickets sales close on April 26.

The 50-50 draw will happen at 11:45 a.m., 15 minutes before the show home is awarded.

This is the 41st annual Show Home Lottery for the Spruce Kings, who just completed their 51st season as a junior hockey team.
