Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect following a bank robbery at Spruceland Mall on Tuesday morning.
The suspect is described as a heavy set 30 year-old man, about 5'8" tall. He was wearing a black toque, a dark bandana or scarf over the lower part of his face, light grey track pants, white sunglasses and white runners with blue pumps.
Police, who were called to the Scotiabank at about 10:30 a.m., have a handful of RCMP in vehicles searching the area.
No one was injured but a handgun was reportedly used.
"We don't know if it is real or an imitation," RCMP Cpl.Craig Douglass said. "Certainly, we get a lot of imitations these days, but we treat all of them as if they're real."
The Spruceland Mall parking lot remained packed with shoppers' vehicles and Douglass said there is no immediate threat although he asked the public to stay away for the time being if they can.
"We're trying to do a job and the less traffic, certainly, makes it easier for us to do," Douglass said.
Anyone who may have seen a person matching the description is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
