Shortly after 8 a.m., this morning, police received a call of a suspicious event that occurred near 17 Avenue and Hemlock Street.

The report advised that the driver of a vehicle approached an elementary school-aged youth and offered them some food.

The man allegedly got out of the vehicle and spoke further with the youth who continued on their way.

He is described as:

  • White
  • Dark hair
  • Approximately 5’10”
  • Muscular build
  • Wearing a grey sweatshirt

 The vehicle is described as:

  • Green in colour
  • Four-door, possibly a hatchback
  • Possibly an import model

The Prince George RCMP are asking that anyone in that area with security cameras please contact 250-561-3300.

Mounties say the investigation is continuing and investigators would like to speak to the persons or persons involved.

At this time, police would also like to remind the adult public that it is not appropriate to approach school-aged children not known to you and to remind parents to speak to their children about strangers and suggest that children do not play alone.
