In need of some good books for summer reading?

The Friends of the Prince George Public Library (PGPL) is hosting its Pay-What-You-Want Book Sale today (June 14) and tomorrow (June 15) at the Nechako Branch with all proceeds going to that facility for a new multi-purpose room.

This is the first time the Hart Highway location will be receiving funds from the event, which brings in nearly $10,000 each year.

“The multi-purpose room is used for programs for all ages,” states a PGPL news release. “The renovation will open up the room to allow more natural light, create better sightlines, and to make additional space for patrons to read and socialize whenever programs are not in progress.”

Today’s sale is for members only from 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday’s sale will be open for the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The PGPL is also establishing a Nechako-branded library card for those who frequent that branch on a regular basis.

It’s a $5 cost for those memberships, but those proceeds are going towards the new multi-purpose room as well.

The Library says regular cards are still available for free.

More information is available on the PGPL’s website.
