Throwback Thursday for Dec. 12, 2024

Your weekly look back at what The Citizen was covering on or around this day in decades past

Christmas spirit was in the air on this date in 1960 when airmen stationed at Baldy Hughes headed to Prince George for Operation Reindeer. Using $500, they loaded up on toys and other gifts for the children attending the Lower Post Indian School.

And there was more Christmas spirit seen 35 years later when the kids of Hartland Preschool collected food donations for the Elizabeth Fry Society and the Pathfinder program.

Winter isn't all about Christmas, of course. The Citizen spotlighted mild weather on this date in 1980 and covered a Peewee Tier 2 tournament on this date in 2015.
