The Citizen's weekly look back at what was making the news in decades past

This week's Throwback Thursday offers a look at how much times have changed since 1970, when the local probation office hired its first female officer. Described in the Citizen headline as a "girl," 25-year-old Sally McEwan was one of a handful of BC's first women in that role.

Also this week, we see the results of a trap shooting competition in 1960 and a dynamic front-page photo of the band Platinum Blonde from 1985. And, to cap it all off, photos of a 2005 foot race up the hill to UNBC.
