Tourism Prince George plans to donate 100 per cent of the rest of April's sock sales proceeds to Jim Good, the founder of Goodsir Nature Park.
In a press release, the tourism agency notes that Good, who built one of Northern BC's more popular nature attractions near Prince George, has been dealing with a medical emergency and a drop in donations to the park.
“We’re hoping the community will rally behind Jim as he navigates this difficult time,” said Christina Watts, communications and engagement specialist for Tourism Prince George. “Jim’s work has touched so many lives, and now it’s our turn to support him as he gets back on his feet.”
Socks, including pairs with Mr. PG on them, are available at the Visitor Information Centre, 850 Canada Games Way, and online at tourismpg.shop.
In addition to purchasing socks, there are other ways the public can help:
- Donate directly to Good’s GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/a805c769
- Visit Goodsir Nature Park, which remains open to the public
- Spread the word and share your experiences with friends to encourage others to support the cause
