A Prince George traffic stop this week ended in the arrest of a 30-year-old man and substantial seizure of drugs and cash.

On Monday (Aug. 31) at about 8:30 p.m., RCMP spotted a vehicle without active insurance on Continental Way in the BCR Industrial Site.

After pulling over the vehicle, a release says a detailed search led officers to detain the driver and seize the vehicle as part of a drug trafficking investigation as a large amount of uncut cocaine and cutting agent were found.

Mounties then obtained a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant for a home on 2000-block Central Street East.

A search of the residence found a large amount of cash, suspected heroin, drug trafficking paraphernalia and an assault-style rifle with a prohibited magazine.

The suspect was later released pending further investigation and charge approval from the Federal Prosecution Service of Canada.

Prince George RCMP says it’s committed to aggressively targeting those responsible for causing harm through drug trafficking and its associated violence in the community.
