Chantelle and Warren Grafton will be the keynote speakers at UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Night event at the Coast Prince George Hotel on Nov. 9. Tickets are now on sale.

Chantelle and Warren Grafton’s world was forever changed in June 2019 when a mountain bike accident left Chantelle a paraplegic.

As keynote speakers at the ninth annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Night fundraiser, the Prince George couple will tell their inspirational story of how they have had to make adjustments in their lives as UNBC graduates, competitive athletes, martial artists, world travellers and adventure chasers to move past Chantelle’s disability.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, to be held at the Coast Prince George Hotel on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.

The Legacy Night event provides funding to provide scholarships and bursaries for varsity athletes who compete in for UNBC’s men’s and women’s soccer and basketball teams in the U SPORTS Canada West Conference.

“Donor generosity empowers UNBC’s student athletes to excel in their studies and in their sports,” said UNBC athletic director Loralyn Murdoch. “Many of our athletes are Academic All Canadians, and our teams have all enjoyed inspiring playoff runs over the past few years.

“The Prince George community has been tremendously supportive of our program over the years and it shows; I’m excited to welcome them to this year’s event.”

Last year's event, which featured Humboldt Broncos bus crash survivor Kaleb Dahlgren, raised a record $140,000.

Tickets for the Nov. 9 event are $125 each or $800 for a table of eight, with other ticketing options available.
