Whenever the UNBC Timberwolves basketball seasons end, it will be emotional and bittersweet but tonight (Feb. 2), they will be celebrated during the last home game of the regular season.

A total of six basketball players are set to graduate after the conclusion of the 2018-19 season:

  • Abby Gib - Calgary, Alberta
  • Vasiliki Louka - Athens, Greece
  • James Agyeman - Toronto, Ontario
  • Austin Chandler - Wenatchee, Washington
  • Jovan Leamy - Toronto, Ontario
  • Vaggelis Loukas - Athens, Greece

Abby Gibb

The Calgary native has spent two seasons with UNBC after transferring from St. Mary's University in Calgary and also spent some time with Mount Royal University. In her two-year UNBC career, she has started each game.

Gibb is the Timberwolves women's single-season record holder in three-point percentage while scoring over 300 points and 100 assists in her career. She set career highs this season in points, assists, rebounds and steals.

Gibb is expecting to graduate with a degree in Science including majoring in Psychology. She hopes to work with children with special needs.

Vasiliki Louka

The towering rebounder from Greece will finish her fifth season with the Timberwolves at the conclusion of this year.

Louka is the all-time leader for women in points, rebounds and blocks. She is also in the top 10 in the steals and assists categories. Another accomplishment for the senior is being in the top 20 in Canada West history in career points as well as field goals and free throws.

Louka is also in the top 10 in Canada West in blocked shots and minutes played. And she still isn't done in the record books as she sits in the top five in Canada West with rebounds as well as double-doubles.

Louka is set to graduate with a degree in Public Administration and Government Development. She hopes to extend her career after university at the professional level.

James Agyeman

The Canadian product has been with UNBC for the past three seasons after transferring from Wildfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ont.

Agyeman is the all-time Timberwolves' Canada West leader in assists after he passed longtime Timberwolf Billy Cheng. He also sits in the top 10 in points, rebounds, free throws and steals. Agyeman is also a founding member of the Timberwolves Student-Athlete Society.

He's set to graduate with a Commerce degree with a major in Marketing.

Austin Chandler

Austin Chandler is currently completing his third season with the Timberwolves.

The Washington native missed last year due to injury but bounced back this season in a major way. In UNBC's Canada West history, he sits in the top 10 for points, rebounds and steals. He also recently became the all-time leader in blocked shots.

Chandler also coaches with Special Olympics Prince George and is set to graduate with a degree in International Business.

Jovan Leamy

The second Toronto native graduating this year came to UNBC before the 2017-18 season and has been a powerhouse ever since.

In only two seasons, Leamy is in the top five all-time in points scored, blocks and steals in UNBC's Canada West history. He's also poised to break Rhys Elliott's single-season scoring record this weekend (Feb. 1 and 2). He already has passed Elliott for the most steals in a season. Leamy also leads Canada West currently in steals.

He's set to graduate with a degree in Marketing and also wants to play basketball at the professional level following graduation.

Vaggelis Loukas

Loukas is the second Greek to be graduating at the end of this season.

During his five-year career, he has started more games for UNBC at the Canada West level than any player in history. The senior passed Dennis Stark for the all-time Timberwolf rebounding record while surpassing Billy Cheng for first in the steals category. He is also top 10 in UNBC history in points, assists and blocks.

Loukas is set to graduate with a degree in Environmental Studies with a major in Resource Management.

The Greek also has more hopes on the horizon, wanting to obtain his Master's Degree while also playing basketball overseas in Europe.

Seniors night will be tonight (Feb. 2)  at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre when UNBC takes on the University of Lethbridge with the women taking the floor at 5 p.m. and the men after at 7 p.m.
