It was a regular-season to remember for two key UNBC women's basketball players.
Canada West released its All-Star teams today (Feb. 20) with two Lady T-Wolves cracking two of the three teams.
Fifth-year forward Maria Mongomo was named to the Canada West First Team All-Stars alongside UFV's Taylor Claggett, UBC's Keylyn Felewich, Saskatchewan's Summer Masikewich and Alberta's Vanessa Wild.
The Spaniard won the 2019-20 women's scoring title, dropping 20.1 points per game.
She also finished first in steals per game in Canada West averaging 3.4 per night.
She also finished sixth in rebounds per game with 9.8.
AMAZING! The @CanadaWest leader in scoring (20.1), and steals (3.4), top ten in rebounding (9.8), and one of the best scorers in conference history. Now, just the second @UNBCWomensBball player to be named a CW 1st Team All-Star! Congratulations to @unbc's Maria Mongomo! #EnFuego pic.twitter.com/YYrIeglfVC

Hometown product Madison Landry, who also had an exceptional year, was named to the Canada West Third Team All-Stars alongside UBC's Jessica Hanson, Regina's Michaela Kleisinger, Manitoba's Taylor Randall and UFV's Deanna Tuchscherer.
Landry finished third in Canada West scoring where she averaged 19.1 points per contest, while also finishing fifth in free throws at 81.5 per cent.
Both were key parts in UNBC's comeback season after holding a record of 3-9, the Timberwolves have won nine straight including a double overtime thriller first-round playoff win in Lethbridge on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14).
The Timberwolves now face the top-seeded Calgary Dinos in a do-or-die game tonight in Calgary at 5 p.m. Pacific time in the Canada West quarterfinals.
WHAT A SEASON! @unbc's @landy_madi went OFF this year, finishing top 10 in @USPORTSca in scoring, while also reaching career highs in rebounds, steals, and FT's. Oh, and she became @UNBCWomensBball's career leader in assists. Now, the @DPSSCondors grad is a @CanadaWest All-Star! pic.twitter.com/xcWCjdBEqV
