The Hart Pioneer Centre got a roughly $400 lift, thanks to Uride.
The ridesharing company’s Ride for a Reason event, on July 25, raised money to support the centre. The company pledged 10 per cent of all fares earned that day to seniors centres in communities where the company operates.
"We are extremely proud of the overwhelming response," Uride CEO Cody Ruberto said. "The dedication and support from our riders have not only raised a significant amount of funds but have also shown great compassion for our senior citizens. By participating in this program, our riders have made a meaningful difference.”
The national initiative benefited a total of 18 seniors centres in B.C., Alberta and Ontario.
"We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the riders who joined us in this endeavor," Ruberto said "Your decision to book a Uride on July 25th has significantly impacted the lives of our senior community members. Together, we have shown that even a small act of kindness can make a tremendous difference."
