CNC's Valemount Learning Society received $40,000 this week from the English as a Second Language Settlement Assistance Program.

The funding will go towards a co-ordinator who will recruit and help train volunteer tutors to teach English.

ESLSAP is a part of WelcomeBC, a provincial program that provides a range of services for immigrants.

The $40,000 is part of a $1.6 million round of funding to 42 service service providers in 50 communities.
