One of the headliners for this year’s Northern FanCon has taken his name off of the marquee.
Actor Ryan Hurst has cancelled his appearance at Prince George’s fifth annual entertainment gathering due to an apparent scheduling conflict.
In a video he posted to Facebook earlier this week, the star of The Walking Dead and Sons of Anarchy explained his departure.
“I’m so sorry, there was a problem. Not on Northern FanCon’s part, but I double-booked and I’m going to be in the United States during that weekend,” said the 42-year-old. “But, my team is working really hard for me to reschedule and get out to you next year. Thanks again. Have a blast!”
The American has also been in notable films like Remember the Titans, Saving Private Ryan, and Patch Adams.
Despite Hurst’s absence, Northern FanCon’s other celebrity guests are still committed to coming to B.C.’s northern capital.
This includes actors Alan Tudyk and Madison Smith, content creators Evil Ted and Becca Scott (College Humor), cosplayer Ivy Doomkitty, and yes… Stormtroopers.
The event takes place May 3 - 5, 2019.
