Prince George Native Friendship Centre executive director Barb Ward-Burkitt has been named to the Order of British Columbia, the provincial government's honours and awards secretariat said Friday.
The highest honour the proivncial government can bestow on a British Columbian, it recognizes citizens who have made exceptional contributions. Ward-Burkitt is among 15 people who will receive the award this year during investiture ceremony an Government House in Victoria on Oct. 21.
