So, you are told you can't adopt a cat or dog, but were you told you couldn't adopt a pig?
The Prince George Humane Society recently crossed paths with a pig by the name of Rupert.
In a Facebook post shared yesterday (Jan. 13), the society says the pig (who may be a juvenile pot belly) came out of a "rough situation." With it being so cold outside, the society agreed to make him a nice, warm home.
The not-for-profit has since found an experienced foster home for the adorable pig. The organization has received donations of proper pig food, but is also looking for some donations of fresh vegetables.
The post adds research is ongoing and local rescue centres have been collaborating to find out what would be the best course of action for Rupert.
"It's great to know that members of our community know they can call us for help and we'll do our best, even if it's not our area of expertise," the Humane Society wrote.
Rupert will eventually be put up for adoption.
