Northern Health wants to hear about Indigenous people’s experience with their complaints department and has put the Your Story Matters call out on social media.

In a posting on their Facebook page Northern Health is asking people to tune in via Zoom for a chat.

“By understanding your perspective, we will be able to make the health care system more responsive to the experience of Indigenous patients receiving care and their support systems,” it said in the posting. “In order to do this, we will be listening to your stories to help us identify where improvements can be made.”

Indigenous community members are invited to participate in a two-hour virtual engagement session.

Here is the schedule:

Northwest: April 24 from 4 to 6 pm

Northeast: April 25 from 4 to 6 pm

Northern Interior: April 27 from 4 to 6 pm

The poster states that the experiences shared by participants will be used to inform the Indigenous Patient Experience Team of their journey and to better understand the current state of the process utilized to access services.
