The 2022 BKT Tires & OK Tire World Women's Curling Championship is officially underway at CN Centre with the opening draw of action taking place on Saturday afternoon. Team Canada played Italy in one of four games being played in the first of twenty draws of round-robin action. Canada defeated the Italians by a score of 9-2.
Team Canada is made up of skip Kerri Einarson, third Val Sweeting, second Shannon Birchard, lead Briane Meilleur with alternate Krysten Karwacki, and coach Reid Carruthers.
Team Canada takes on Norway on Saturday night in draw 2, and takes on Turkey on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in draw 4.
